Professor JoAnn Jordan has over 25 years of professional healthcare experience in a variety of organizational settings and has built a reputation as an energetic and supportive team leader. She is a known subject matter expert in health information and has used her expertise to help develop curriculum for educational institutions. With her energetic and engaging style, Professor Jordan is a dynamic contributor to organizational training and professional health information resources. Her primary interests are in improving quality health outcomes, employee satisfaction and efficiency through interdepartmental collaboration and teamwork.
Professor Jordan obtained her BA and MPH from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a graduate certificate in Biomedical Informatics from Oregon Health & Science University. She is the current Chair of the Healthcare Information Management Program and is certified by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist – Physician (CCS-P) and an approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer. She has also attained the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems designation from the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
